The Food & Drug Administration has issued a recall alert regarding Mommy’s Bliss Nipple Cream. Breastfeeding mothers should discontinue use of this cream immediately as it contains ingredients, chlorphenesin and phenoxyethanol, which can cause exposed infants respiratory depression, vomiting, and diarrhea. Affected infants will initially show signs of decreased appetite and develop more severe signs such as limpness of extremities, inability to grip objects, difficulty waking and change in skin color. If your infant has been exposed to Mommy’s Bliss Nipple Cream and exhibits any of the above symptoms, the FDA advises to seek medical help immediately. The makers of the cream have issued a product bulletin related to this recall of Mommy’s Bliss Nipple Cream.
